Milo Ventimiglia Repaired His Own 1967 Chevelle as Jack Pearson On ‘This Is Us’
Jack Pearson, played by Milo Ventimiglia, is the ultimate American dad in today’s hit TV series This Is Us. The Pearson family’s Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a staple on the show, but long before they walked into that dealership, Jack had a love for another car: a Chevelle.
Early episodes of the series show a young Jack Pearson was trying to make some extra cash, so he offered to fix up Mrs. Peabody’s late husband’s car: a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle. “You can’t sell a 1967 Chevelle Super Sport,” Jack told Mrs. Peabody. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Milo Ventimiglia revealed that the Chevelle featured on the show actually belongs to him.

Named Evelyn, the 1967 Chevelle fits perfectly into the time period of the This Is Us flashbacks. But using Milo’s Chevelle on set wasn’t the original plan.
“They were looking for a Camaro,” Milo said in an interview. “And I was like, ‘You can’t put Jack Pearson in a Camaro. What about a Chevelle?'” After doing some digging, the transportation department asked Milo if they could use his car in the show. Milo agreed, but on one condition: he wanted all of the money budgeted for renting the car to go toward providing coffee and food trucks for the show’s crew.
The Chevelle offers a more understated vibe than the Camaro, a famously performance-based model. Milo has shown off his car on his Instagram account in the past, driving it around the city of Los Angeles.
