Some drivers drop some serious cash to purchase an efficient vehicle. However, Mitsubishi has a fuel efficient model that won’t break the bank.

The Mitsubishi Mirage was recently named the most fuel efficient, gasoline-powered vehicle in America.

The Future of the Mitsubishi Mirage: Are we really about to get a new Mitsubishi Mirage Crossover?

That title is based on data collected from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. According to the EPA, the latest iteration of the Mirage earns 36 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway, making it the most efficient vehicle on the U.S. market that isn’t either a hybrid or an EV.

Based on its fuel economy ratings, the EPA estimates that it would cost drivers just $900 annually to fill up the Mirage, based on 15,000 annual miles and current fuel prices. That’s savings of roughly $2,000 over the course of five years when compared to fuel requirements for the average new car.

The Mirage’s sportier counterpart, the Mirage G4 sedan, also excels when it comes to fuel economy. With its 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, the Mirage G4 earns approximately 41 mpg on the highway, only slightly less than the standard Mirage.

The best part about the Mirage’s fuel efficiency is that it comes at an affordable price. The starting price point for the Mirage is just $13,795, making it one of the industry’s least-expensive new vehicles. The Mirage G4 is also affordable, with an asking price of $14,395.

The Mitsubishi Mirage doesn’t cut corners with its standard features, either. Technology like a 7.0-inch touch-screen display and Bluetooth phone and audio streaming are offered as standard features.
