All-New 2015 Subaru WRX Marketed as Best Performing Ever
When Subaru unveiled the all-new 2015 Subaru WRX at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month, the reaction was split. The loyal Subaru enthusiasts thought the styling was too dull, while more traditional car fans liked the more subtle styling. Now, the performance figures have been released for the 2015 Subaru WRX and they are far less polarizing.
What is being marketed as “the best handling, best performing WRX ever” is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injected BOXER engine the pumps out 268 horsepower.
Subaru is also tooting their horns about the new torque-vectoring system that is standard in the 2015 WRX, which allows the automaker to deliver on that “best handling” promise. You can see the all-new 2015 Subaru WRX in action in the below video, and you can be the judge if it looks “more like a Subaru” or not.
“With its bold new wide-body sedan design and expanded performance envelope, the 2015 WRX marks a major evolutionary step for the rally-bred performance car that has become a global automotive legend,” said Subaru in a press release.
2015 WRX Power Stats:
- 2.0-liter direct-injection turbo BOXER engine
- 268 horsepower at 5,600 rpm
- Broad torque curve tops out at 258 lb.-ft.
Which side of the fence are you on regarding the styling of the all-new 2015 Subaru WRX?
