A whole new kind of Camaro is coming to Korea

While the newest rendition of the Chevrolet Camaro may have been revealed to American audiences some time ago, other automotive markets have not yet been introduced to the new Camaro. Chevrolet just announced that one of these regions will receive the Camaro very soon.

Indeed, Chevrolet just introduced the new Camaro SS to South Korean automotive market.

Currently, the Camaro SS is set to be the only Camaro model available in South Korea. Fortunately, it will pack a good amount of power.

The Camaro SS comes equipped with a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Together, these two powertrain components produce 453 horsepower.

Of course, the Chevrolet Camaro SS also comes equipped with technologies designed for infotainment and safety purposes. Each Camaro SS will include the latest Chevrolet Infotainment System and an 8-inch high-resolution display.

As far as safety goes, the Camaro SS comes with Blind Spot Alert, Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Parking Assist. Furthermore, the Active Hood System works to keep both drivers and pedestrians safe during a collision.

Perhaps the most striking change for the Camaro is its exterior overhaul. Chevrolet compares the new Camaro SS design to a sprinter’s “sleek, strong muscles,” while the Camaro SS also bears a new grille design.

“The New Camaro SS, inherits Chevrolet’s performance DNA and heritage as the original American muscle car, with exceptional segment leading performance and distinctive athletic and muscular design”, said GM Korea President and CEO Kaher Kazem.

The new Camaro SS made its Korean debut at the Yongin AMG Speedway. The automaker is already accepting pre-orders for the model.
