For those of us who own cars, it’s easy to take transportation for granted. For those without cars, it can be a struggle to get to work, never mind to medical appointments. One Pennsylvania-based organization is making transportation more accessible to those in need. The Kaitlin Murphy Foundation recently donated $3,000 to Advocates for the Homeless and Those in Need to fund rides for recovering addicts in the Bucks County area.

Funding transportation for addicts

The donating foundation’s president, Annemarie Murphy, expressed pride in helping residents in need of transportation. “This is what we do,” she said. “We fundraise so we’re able to give grants at a moment’s notice to help our community and to help those struggling with addiction.”

According to AHTN’s Karen Mineo, Bucks County has a serious lack of transportation for those who don’t have their own vehicle. She expressed thanks to The Kaitlin Murphy Foundation, explaining that the donation will help recovering addicts access the court resources and medical services they need to get better.
