[Photos] 2016 Buick Envision Confirmed for US Next Year
Rumors have been running rampant for the past year that Buick would be joining Volvo as the only automakers to import new models from China into the United States, starting with the hot-selling Buick Envision crossover. Now, those rumors have been confirmed with Buick announcing the introduction of the Envision to the United States in 2016.
The Envision has been mega-popular in China, winning the Motor Trend SUV of the Year and pulling down 127,085 cumulative sales in 2015. The addition of the Envision will ideally help capitalize on the trend of increased crossover sales in the United States; Buick’s best-selling vehicle in 2015 has been the Encore, which has experienced an impressive 23 consecutive months of year-over-year sales growth.
The 2016 Buick Envision will be offered with a standard 252-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo-four with stop/start technology, HiPer Strut front suspension, Active Twin Clutch all-wheel-drive, and aerodynamic-enhancing features such as upper grille shutters and lightweight aluminum hood.
The Envision will be offered with the expected suite of Buick amenities including 8-inch IntelliLink touchscreen, OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, active noise cancelation, and safety features including Automatic Park Assist and Surround Vision 360-degree camera.
