The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 are honoring the 145th anniversary of the Kentucky Derby and the 10th year Ram has been the Derby’s Official Truck of Churchill Downs with a specialized edition. Debuting at the New York International Auto Show, the limited Kentucky Derby Edition offers signature style, unparalleled capability, advanced tech, and intense powertrains.

“The Kentucky Derby remains one of America’s most recognized sporting events,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand. “This hardworking truck is packed with exclusive technology, luxury and good looks that make it fit to wear the Kentucky Derby name.”

Notable tech includes the Uconnect 12-inch touch-screen radio, which bests the completion. Towing in the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty models is made easier with the 360-degree surround-view camera with trailer-reverse guidance.

Inside the capable Kentucky Derby Edition models is a cabin awash with luxurious materials and eye-catching design.

“The Kentucky Derby Edition also includes premium full-leather front and rear seats (rear reclining on Mega Cab) combined with genuine wood and metal trim throughout. Uniquely-colored seating features a Black and Saddle Brown hybrid of Limited and Longhorn trims, accented with medium Greystone stitching and piping,” FCA reports.

Seven colors (Bright White, Patriot Blue, Pearl White, Max Steel, Delmonico Red, Granite Crystal, and Diamond Black Crystal) are available for the exterior. Body-color bumpers and a premium billet-appearance grille add to the truck’s distinct styling.

Based on the automaker’s top Limited trim, the Ram Heavy Duty Kentucky Derby Edition can be equipped with either the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 or the Cummins 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel engine. A choice of 4×4 or 4×2 configuration is available.
