Recent college grads eager to drive into the future should get behind the wheel of a Chevy Volt. According to the experts at Autotrader, the Chevy Volt, model years 2016-2019, ranks as one of the 10 best cars for recent college graduates in 2019.

“For environmentally conscious drivers or just anyone who likes the idea of saving a bundle on fuel costs, the second-generation Chevrolet VoltOpens a New Window. is a fantastic plug-in hybrid. It has an extremely impressive all-electric range of 53 miles. If you don’t have anywhere to plug it in every night, the Volt is still a very efficient hatchback even when it’s running on its gas engine,” according to Autotrader, which also noted the Volt’s modern technology.

The 2019 Chevy Volt is available at two trim levels — LT and Premier. Each trim is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with electric drive unit to pump out 149 horsepower and 294 lb-ft of torque. It earns an EPA-estimated fuel rating of 43 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway.

The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus System with 8-inch diagonal HD color touch-screen display, a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, six-speaker audio system, and a Sirius XM Radio trial are standard features. An HD Rear Vision Camera, Keyless Open and Start, location-based charging, programmable vehicle charging, and two USB ports also come standard. An available Bose premium eight-speaker audio system is available as is a 7.2 kW onboard charger and the advanced driver assist technology of Automatic Parking Assist.
