Rory Harvey has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of Vauxhall Motors and CEO Opel Ireland

General Motors has announced that it is appointing Rory Harvey to the role of Chairman and Managing Director of Vauxhall and CEO of Opel Ireland. Harvey has worked in numerous roles in the operations side of General Motors Europe, primarily in sales and aftersales. Prior to his appointment, Harvey was the Executive Director Sales, Opel Europe.

Harvey succeeds Tim Tozer, who is leaving General Motors to pursue alternative career avenues.

“Rory has a profound knowledge of the British car market, a wealth of experience within Vauxhall and Opel and excellent management qualities. We look forward to working with Rory on the implementation of our model offensive and on building an even stronger Vauxhall brand,” said Peter Kuespert, Vice President Sales and Aftersales, GM Europe. “At the same time, I would like to thank Tim for the great commitment he showed towards our brand. We are grateful for his hard work and wish him all the best for the future.”

Harvey has been with General Motors since 1989 and holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Coventry University. He will report to Kuespert effective beginning his new appointment.
