[RUMOR] Performance Data Recorder on the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V
Word on the street is that we can expect to see the Performance Data Recorder on the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V. The Performance Data Recorder (PDR) debuted on the 2015 C7 Corvette and records performance data (go figure!) and uses a camera to take video on the track. The tool has been a major hit with performance car enthusiasts, who love to track things like G-forces, lap times, and more. (Oh, and it also might be illegal in some states.)
Now, Mark Reuss, the president of General Motors North America, has hinted that it could be making its way onto the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V, according to Autoblog. The folks at the car blog report that Reuss all but confirmed it last Thursday.
When Autoblog asked Reuss if the PDR system would make its way to other models soon, Reuss replied, “What’s soon?” Oh, how clever you are, Mr. Reuss, tantalizing us with this information.
But the gearheads at Autoblog are persistent, so they pressed, asking if the PDR might appear on the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V, set to debut in Los Angeles this week. Reuss’ reply: “There will be other uses, and it won’t be that far away. How’s that?”
Touché, Mark. Touché.
