Scott Smith Named MMNA Vice President, Aftersales

Mitsubishi Motors North America recently announced that Scott Smith has been made Vice President, Aftersales. On September 9, the appointment became effective.

Smith’s role in Mitsubishi Motors North America

Scott Smith has had over 30 years of experience surrounding the auto industry. He has gained experience from working on the dealer side and the manufacturer side, giving him well-rounded knowledge of the industry.

Before being appointed to this position, he had a multitude of roles in Ford Motor Company over the course of 21 years. There, he worked in dealer operations, customer relationship management, product marketing, service and sales, warranty, and parts.

Smith also worked with Apple Auto Group for two years. He directed five different manufacturer brands’ parts and service operations.

His most recent position was in AutoNation as Vice President, Parts Operations. For three years, he managed the development of accessories and parts. In addition, he oversaw their distribution for more than 360 nationwide retail outlets.

As the Vice President, Aftersales, for MMNA, Smith will be reporting to Fred Diaz, president and CEO of MMNA. He will also be a member of the Executive Committee. Smith will oversee the MMNA parts and service operations within the United States.

He will also be supervising the parts export logistics for Latin America. He will be tasked with helping Mitsubishi and its dealers create high customer satisfaction for customers of Mitsubishi parts and service. To do so, he must develop and then implement new programs and strategies.

Fred Diaz said, “Mitsubishi Motors North America is on the cusp of a reinvention of every aspect of our business in and across the U.S., and I know that Scott’s leadership of our critical parts and service operations will take our organization to the next level.”
