The new Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo will carry a starting MSRP of 97,557 euros in Germany

Whether you call it a hatchback or wagon, the Panamera Sport Turismo is one futuristic looking ride

If you’re the type of person who enjoys fantasizing about luxury wagons, then your options are unfortunately limited to a small number of models, including the Volvo V90 and Mercedes-AMG E63 S. However, Porsche is doing something to solve this problem, as the company just announced today, March 2nd, that it’s adding the Panamera Sport Turismo to its lineup of performance vehicles.

Cars 101: The Panamera wagon comes standard with 331 lb-ft of torque, but what does that mean?

This new model is essentially the hatchback version of its second-generation Panamera sedan. Its elongated roofline gives the Sport Turismo more storage space, head room, and easier access to the rear seats than its sedan counterpart. What’s more, the Sports Turismo provides three seats in the rear, while the Panamera sedan only comes with two, which is one reason why Porsche dealerships say demand for the vehicle hasn’t been as high as previously expected.

The new Panamera Sport Turismo also comes standard with all-wheel drive and an adaptive rear spoiler that can automatically adjust depending on how fast the vehicle is traveling. Furthermore, the Sport Turismo will be offered with the same high-performance engines as the sedan, including a twin-turbo V6 rated at 440 horsepower, a twin-turbo V8 good for 550 horsepower, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain that provides 462 horsepower.

Some other notable equipment available with the Sport Turismo includes 21-inch wheels, an adaptive air suspension, and a 230-volt electrical socket that can be added to the trunk.

The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo will makes its public debut at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show that kicks off on March 7th and it should become available in the United States by November, according to a report from Jalopnik.

Porsche dealers are currently accepting orders for the all-new Panamera Sport Turismo.
