In some not-so-shocking news, Kelley Blue Book has released its list of the 10 Coolest Cars under $20,000 for 2018. And there are some familiar names on the top of the list.

Since its debut in 2003, the Mazda3 has appeared on Kelley Blue Book’s 10 Coolest Cars every year. The recognition this year marks the fifth year in a row that this compact car has taken the number one spot on this lineup of affordable cool cars, adding to the list of awards it has received from KBB.
Two of the most critical cool factors are that the vehicle is fun to drive and fun to own. Some of the others questions asked to determine what makes a car cool include: Is it fun? Is it stylish? Does the car make you smile? Does it have the tech features you want, and the versatility you need, at a price you can afford?
Certainly, the Mazda3 exceeds all those requirements. “Widely regarded as the best-looking and most fun-to-drive vehicle in its segment, the Mazda3 is the all-time champion of our budget-minded coolest cars list, appearing here for the 15th time,” said Michael Harley, executive director for Kelley Blue Book. “Available in both sedan and hatchback form, the Mazda3 offers practicality that appeals to compact car buyers, with sportiness that makes even daily chores more fun.”
