This is Your First Nightmarish Look at the All-New 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 4500HD/5500HD
The above photo, bathed in an ominous red, does not depict some beast of Lovecraftian proportions lumbering out of space and time to conquer humanity by driving it beneath a crushing wave of madness. It’s not even close to that. Why would you think that’s what this is? What you’re seeing is the first look at the all-new Silverado Class 4 and 5 chassis cab trucks—the Silverado 4500HD and 5500HD.
If you’re all about lovingly looking at Class 4 and Class 5 chassis cab trucks, then you don’t have long to wait before you can get a much clearer, less nightmarish look. Chevrolet today confirmed that the Silverado 4500HD and 5500HD will make their world premiere at The Work Truck Show 2018, coming March 6th-9th in Indianapolis.

“The Silverado 4500HD/5500HD trucks are the flagship of our full-line commercial truck portfolio and we’ve designed them to be among the best in the industry in maneuverability, serviceability, visibility, quietness and comfort, diesel fuel economy, and more,” said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president, General Motors Fleet. “At GM Fleet, we are determined to deliver on our three pillars: Great Products, Innovative Business Solutions, and an Exceptional Customer Experience, and I’m confident that with these new trucks, we’ll exceed the expectations of not only our fleet customers, but the drivers and upfitters as well.”
Chevrolet will release technical specs for the Silverado 4500HD and 5500HD in March when they are revealed in full. In the meantime, it’s been confirmed that these medium-duty trucks will be offered in regular and crew cab, with 2WD and 4WD capabilities, with a number of different GVWRs and wheelbases, and with Duramax diesel engines and Allison transmissions.
Get ready, humanity. The end is nigh; woe unto all ye who will not kneel before the great Sil’ver’ado as it rises from the depths. The Chevrolet Silverado 4500HD and 5500HD is coming.
