Per the publication’s John Vincent, the Spark and the other top six models fell into the front-wheel-drive subcompact category, which means they’re typically cheap to insure and will significantly reduce your gas budget. However, only the 2019 Spark secured Vincent’s compliment of being “currently the least expensive car you can buy in America,” due to its $13,220 starting MSRP.
