Vauxhall’s latest and greatest has earned another award, placing itself atop its class in the annual Fleet News Awards.

The all-new Vauxhall Astra snapped up another trophy for superiority, this time earning the top honor in the Lower Medium category at the Fleet News Awards this month. The award-winners were announced this week at a special ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, and all were determined by a panel of judges including persons of influence in the automotive industry as well as journalists who specialize in coverage of the fleet industry.

The judges issued a collective statement about the Astra, which was lauded for its eco- and consumer-friendliness: “The new Astra has made a huge leap forward over the previous model. Highly competitive on running costs, emissions and fuel efficiency, it is packed with technology that has been designed with fleet and driver needs in mind. It ticks all the rational boxes but will also attract drivers. It is Vauxhall’s most appealing model for a generation.”

The new Astra was launched last year and has been a commercial and critical success ever since. With next-gen IntelliLink and award-winning OnStar 4G LTE technology, as well as a lighter and more nimble body, the Astra has earned awards including the best Family Car at the annual What Car? Awards and the European Car of the Year.

“We’re delighted the Astra has been recognized at the Fleet News Awards, as the fleet market is an important sector for the all new Astra,” said James Taylor, Vauxhall’s Fleet Sales Director. “It’s great to see how well-received it has been so far by both our customers and the media.”
