Vauxhall VXR8 GTS-R to Debut at Goodwood, Will Be Offered in 15-Unit Limited Run
With the end of Australian manufacturing on the horizon, 2017 marks the end of the road for the Vauxhall VXR8 range, necessitating that the UK-brand see its V8 beast off in style with a proper celebration at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Vauxhall revealed on Wednesday that it will use the event to show off its last-of-line VXR8 GTS-R, powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that will make it the most powerful car Vauxhall has ever built.

The Vauxhall VXR8 GTS-R will appear at Goodwood as part of the First Glance track class, where it will be driven by “a series of high-profile drivers.” The VXR8 GTS-R will also be displayed alongside the Insignia Sports Tourer 2.0 Turbo 4×4 at the First Glance Paddock, which can be found next to the Cartier Lawn.
But more than merely displaying it, Vauxhall intends to offer the GTS-R in limited quantities to aficionados in the UK. And by limited quantities, we mean extremely limited quantities: only 15 Vauxhall VXR8 GTS-Rs will be sold in the United Kingdom, each carrying an announced OTR price of £74,500.
For that hefty sum, 15 lucky drivers will get exclusive features including upgraded braking from six-piston, monoblock calipers and 410 mm discs; 20-inch forged alloy wheels; and redesigned exterior elements including new front fascia, splitter, wings, vents, rear diffuser, rear spoiler, and diamond-shaped quad exhaust tips. The piece de resistance is the increased output of the 6.2-liter V8 up to a positively bonkers 595 PS and 740 Nm of torque (586 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque).
This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place between June 29th and July 2nd.
