1956 Chevy Bel Air restored by Chevrolet Performances The Block

“The Block” is the name of Chevrolet Performance’s restoration team, which has the enviable job of creating jaw-dropping builds for bowtie brand enthusiasts. Their latest project is restoring a classic car which they’ve dubbed “Bela”—not because the vintage vehicle bears a striking resemblance to Hungarian horror movie star Bela Lugosi, we suspect, but because it’s a 1956 Chevy Bel Air.

The most recent video from Chevrolet Performance is a short 15-second teaser that introduces Bela to Chevy fans. Take a look:

The Block says it’s planning to create a “modern-day hot rod” out of this “once forgotten” 1956 Bel Air 4-door no post. The video shows some of the new parts that will be stuffed into the old car, which appears to include mechanical pieces from Borla, Muscle Rod, and Coker Tire.

The finished Chevy Bel Air will be shown in all of its souped-up glory at the 2015 SEMA Show, which will take place from November 3rd through November 6th at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada.

Hopefully, Chevrolet Performance will periodically post some more videos keeping us updated on the progress of the restoration, so we won’t have to wait a full two months to see more of this diamond in the rough.
