Which Chevrolet Sedans, Trucks, and SUVs Have the Roomiest Second Rows?
Are you planning on carrying passengers in the second (or third) row of your vehicle? It’s important to know how much room they’ll have to stretch out — and how much they’ll need. A back seat that’s perfectly comfortable for a 6-year-old could be cramped and miserable for a teen or adult.
Capable and Hardworking: The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 gets the job done
If you’re considering a new Chevrolet, check out the brand’s roomiest 2020 and 2021 models first. Your full-grown second-row passengers will thank you!
Roomiest Chevrolet pickup trucks
The 2020 Silverado 1500 and 2020 Silverado HD are the Chevrolet lineup’s champs in the second-row spaciousness department. In their crew cab configurations, both trucks offer a downright luxurious 43.4 inches of legroom. If you opt for the double cab, though, that measurement plummets to 35.2 inches.

Roomiest Chevrolet three-row SUVs
Who will be riding in the third row of your three-row SUV? Your answer will determine the choice you should make. If you’ll only need the third row for shorter and smaller passengers, opt for the 2021 Tahoe or 2021 Suburban. Both of these full-size models boast a generous 42 inches of second-row legroom. However, the Tahoe only offers 34.9 inches of third-row legroom, while the Suburban provides a bit more with 36.7 inches.
Meanwhile, the 2020 Traverse does a better job of balancing second-row and third-row legroom, giving you just over 38 inches for each. Even though second-row occupants get less space, third-row passengers won’t feel squashed in the Traverse.
Roomiest Chevrolet two-row SUVs
At 39.9 inches, the 2020 Equinox has the most legroom of any Chevrolet two-row SUV. It’s followed closely by the 2020 Blazer at 39.6 inches. The smaller 2021 Trailblazer possesses a surprising amount of legroom at 39.4 inches, but beware — this model offers far less hip room and shoulder room than its larger siblings.
Roomiest Chevrolet sedans
There’s good news and bad news here. The good news: the 2020 Impala offers a generous 39.8 inches of legroom in its back seat. The bad news: Chevrolet has discontinued this full-size sedan, so it won’t be available on dealership lots much longer. If you have your heart set on a car but can’t track down an Impala, the midsize 2020 Malibu will give you a very respectable 38.1 inches of second-row legroom.
Whether you prefer a sedan, a pickup, or an SUV, you won’t lack for options from the Chevrolet lineup — especially when it comes to giving your second-row passengers the room they need to ride comfortably.
