2015 COPO Camaro Debuts at SEMA
Las Vegas is always a city on fire, but perhaps no time each year is it hotter than when the SEMA Show is in town. And, as racing fans have come to expect at SEMA, Chevy is showing off the latest COPO Camaro—the 2015 COPO Camaro—and is not holding anything back.
This year marks the fourth for the limited-production, factory-built racecar. Also of note, 2015 marks the last year of the fifth generation for the Camaro, so the 2015 COPO Camaro is the last fifth-gen we’ll ever see.
The 2014 COPO Camaro was pretty fierce, but the 2015 model may have it beat. The Camaro sports an Abalone White exterior, accented by gray and orange. It also benefits from new COPO graphics and gets its power from a 350 “LSX” V8 with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger.
“The COPO Camaro allows sportsman racers to compete directly in NHRA Stock Eliminator and Super Stock classes,” commented Jim Campbell, GM’s US vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “Every win advances the COPO racing legacy established 45 years ago and reinforces Chevrolet’s position today as America’s leading performance car brand.”
Only 69 examples of the 2015 COPO Camaro will be available. Racers must register to purchase one online.
