The 2016 Honda Civic sedan has been redesigned for the new model year and it comes with a starting MSRP of $18,640. The new Honda Civic features the choice between two capable engines and it also comes standard with LED headlights. The 2016 Honda Civic sedan competes in the same segment as the Kia Forte, Mazda 3, and Toyota Corolla.

The 2016 Honda Civic Sedan comes in five trim levels: LX, EX, EX-T, EX-L, and Touring.

What’s new for the 2016 Honda Civic Sedan?

The 2016 version of the Honda Civic will no longer feature the 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine found in last year’s model. That engine has been replaced with a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder. This compact sedan is also available with an all-new turbocharged engine, but that’s only for the top-level trims. In addition, the Hybrid and Natural Gas versions of the Civic have been discontinued.

The 2016 Honda Civic sedan comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a six-speed manual transmission, which work together to produce 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. A continuously variable transmission is also available for the base LX trim and the CVT comes standard on all of the higher trims. The other available engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder good for 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque.

In addition, the Civic’s trunk features 15.1 cubic feet of cargo space, which is an obvious upgrade over last year’s 12.5 cubic feet of trunk room. Furthermore, the interior of the 2016 Honda Civic sedan comes standard with a rearview camera, Pandora connectivity, and Bluetooth. The new Civic sedan is also available with a 7-inch touchscreen that’s compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
