The new version is designed around visual changes rather than mechanical revisions. It arrives less than a year after the Prelude returned to the Japanese market in September 2025, following the earlier ON Limited Edition.
The 2027 Limited Edition is already available to order in Japan and is scheduled to reach dealers on August 20. Honda has not confirmed whether this specification will be offered in other markets, including North America.
A Limited Edition Focused On Color And Trim
The main change is the new Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic paint, a shade that was not previously available on the Prelude. According to Carscoops, Honda pairs it with matching grille molding and red bumper accents, replacing the blue accents used on the standard model.
The coupe also keeps the familiar 19-inch alloy wheels with a Machined Black Clear finish. Red Brembo brakes complete the exterior treatment, giving the car a more coordinated look without changing its underlying hardware.
This approach follows the ON Limited Edition introduced with the Prelude’s Japanese launch in September 2025. That earlier model combined a Moonlit Pearl exterior with a black roof, black mirrors, and black alloy wheels.

Bordeaux Touches Reshape The Cabin
Inside, the 2027 Limited Edition receives Bordeaux inserts on the front seats, center console, and dashboard. The rest of the upholstery remains black leather, finished with Bordeaux contrast stitching.
Honda also changes a small cabin detail: the embroidered Prelude logo on the passenger side of the dashboard is red instead of white. It is a subtle adjustment, but it matches the red-heavy theme used across the exterior and interior.
The changes are purely cosmetic. There are no reported revisions to the cabin layout, equipment, or driving systems.

The Hybrid Powertrain Remains Unchanged
Mechanically, the 2027 Limited Edition shares its setup with the standard Prelude. It uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and dual electric motors, producing a combined 200 hp, or 149 kW and 203 PS.
Power is sent to the front wheels. The model also retains Honda’s S+Shift system, which simulates gear changes through torque mapping and sound effects to create a more engaging driving feel.
In Japan, the special model is priced at ¥6,306,300, or about $39,300. That represents an increase of ¥126,500, roughly $800, over the standard Prelude. Honda has not said whether the new color scheme will reach North America for the 2027 model year.
