2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV
The Chevy Bolt has earned lots of praise for its eco-friendliness, but not a ton of recognition as a “fun to drive” automobile. That all changed today, however, as the spunky little EV was honored with a 2017 Autotrader “Must Test Drive” Award.
The new, fully electric hatchback also impressed Autotrader editors with its 238-mile EPA-estimated range and “surprisingly reasonable” starting price of $37,500.
Autotrader editors write that the new Bolt EV “finally feels like a car worthy of the ‘game-changer’ description.” The hatchback was also praised as being “more versatile than you might think” and capable of being a daily driver, with one editor going so far as calling it “the car of the future.”

“Among EVs, the Chevy Bolt is a worry-free car that simply works in the real world exactly as Chevrolet says it should,” the Autotrader editors write. “If you’re looking for an EV or even a hybrid, test drive the 2017 Chevy Bolt.”
Autotrader bases its customer-centric awards on whether their testers find a car to be unexpectedly good, and whether they conclude that it would be worth a car shopper’s time to test drive the vehicle.
The other 11 winners of the 2017 Autotrader “Must Test Drive” Awards include the 2017 Audi Q7, the 2017 Honda CR-V, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, the 2017 Jaguar F-PACE, the 2017 Kia Sportage, the 2017 Lincoln Continental, the 2017 Mazda CX-9, the 2017 Nissan Armada, the 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman, and the 2017 Subaru Impreza.
