There’s no denying that the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and the 2019 GMC Sierra are top-of-the-line, tough, capable trucks. However, even the best trucks have room to grow and improve.

Constructive criticism

When the 2019 Silverado and Sierra launched, critics pointed out some spots where they’d like to see improvement. Namely, they wanted a bigger touch screen, less empty space around the dashboard, and overall improvements to the fit and finish. Since GM is always working to make its trucks even better and more exciting, the automaker took these critiques to heart and plans to debut revamped, luxurious interiors on its flagship trucks by 2021.

Room for improvement

What kind of enhancements will we find on future Silverado and Sierra models? First and foremost, we’ll probably see larger touch screens — perhaps even tablet-sized 12-inch touch screens. Other potential upgrades include a redesigned center console and more luxurious materials in the cabin. The Silverado and Sierra should receive these updates by the 2021 model year, while HD versions of those trucks should receive revamps later.

We’d also guess that GM intends to make its truck cabins a little roomier, to give passengers more room to stretch out and store cargo. More interior storage compartments would be nice, as would a panoramic sunroof. However, this is all speculation. There’s no telling how big — or how small — these updates will be, but we expect GM to significantly step up its interior game.
