BLACKPINK Drifts into an Adrenaline Rush in an Intense Kia Stinger Video
Earlier this year, the members of BLACKPINK became global ambassadors for Kia ahead of the North American leg of their massive “In Your Area” world tour. At each tour stop in the U.S., fans had the chance to see brand-new Kia vehicles up close and take photos with them (along with cardboard cut-outs of BLACKPINK). Now that the girls have stopped touring until they head to Tokyo in December, they had some time to film an incredibly dramatic, heart-pumping video featuring four Kia Stingers.
Powerful and Safe: The 2019 Stinger earned the coveted IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus rating
The video starts with Jisoo, Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé “working on” their individual cars to an instrumental version of the band’s hit song “Kill This Love.” We first see Jisoo doing some sort of metalworking on her Aurora Black Pearl Stinger while Lisa replaces a tire on her Snow White Pearl Kia. Jennie gives her Micro Blue Pearl Stinger a power wash and then randomly starts spraying water at the camera and into the air. (Don’t break the fourth wall, Jennie!) Finally, we see Rosé buffing her HiChroma Red Stinger so it really shines.
Once the slow-mo work session is complete, the girls then suit up (in high-end clothing, of course) to drive their Stingers. The BLACKPINK music stops and we’re treated to that kind of dramatic, bass-heavy WAAAAA WAAAAA music you hear in all your favorite action movies. Pepper in some classic engine revving and tires screeching on the pavement, and you’ve got this BLACKPINK Kia video. And while I’d love to believe Jisoo can seamlessly drift between concrete columns in a parking garage, I have a feeling some stunt drivers were on hand for this extended Stinger commercial.

But alas! They weren’t just driving around in circles, staring dramatically into the camera for nearly three minutes. They were creating a “BP” (BLACKPINK) logo before leaving the storage unit where the Stingers were kept. Is that a sequel setup? It ended so dramatically with all four women staring into the camera (again). Will there be another BLACKPINK Kia video where they break into the storage unit with the help of the beastly Telluride? Or will they take the upgraded 2020 Kia Soul for a joyride instead? I need answers!
