[PHOTOS] BMW Concept 4 Offers a Glimpse to the Future in Frankfurt

Each year, automakers from around the globe travel to auto shows to display their best and brightest creations. From newly released production vehicles to concepts that showcase the brand’s philosophy, audiences are consistently wowed by what’s on the show floor. This year in Frankfurt, BMW debuted its Concept 4 vehicle, a future-focused interpretation of the German brand’s DNA.

While some concepts are what most would call unrealistic dream cars, the BMW Concept 4 isn’t too farfetched when you think of the possibility of it becoming an actual production model. Its elongated, smooth exterior aligns with current BMW vehicles but has been slightly updated to include a new design for the signature BMW kidney grille, slimmer LED headlights, and a Forbidden Red paint tone.
As you get closer and make your way from front to back, you’ll notice hidden design elements like an array of small “number 4s” joined together within the updated grille and air intakes. The futuristic coupe’s exterior mirrors are incredibly slim and seem to simply extend from the vehicle seamlessly rather than jutting out of the vehicle’s sides like with current models. All of this sophistication is sitting atop 21-inch light-alloy wheels with a sporty five-spoke design.

Unfortunately, guests were only able to experience the exterior of the Concept 4 in Frankfurt. But it’s safe to say that BMW surely made a statement with this visual display of elegance. This concept is intended to be a look ahead at the BMW 4 Series, and it looks like we might get to see that sooner rather than later.
