BMW Donates i3 To Brad Pitt’s Make It Right 2014 Gala
BMW donated a new BMW i3 to Brad Pitt, who—when he isn’t charming women around the world on the big screen—heads the Make It Right Foundation, a non-profit he founded in 2007 that builds homes for people in need. The i3 was used as a giveaway prize for the raffle at Brad Pitt’s Make It Right 2014 Gala, and was presented by both Pitt and Sandra Bullock.
Make It Right was founded to rebuild 150 safe, energy-efficient, and affordable homes for families from New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward who had lost everything to Hurricane Katrina. As of today, the non-profit has built 100 homes–some designed by world-famous architects–all of which only use about 70 percent less energy than a conventional home.
The BMW i3 offers a similar emphasis on the environment. It’s not only an all-electric, zero emissions vehicle—the plant that produces it uses solar and wind power, and its interior is made using high-quality renewable materials like recycled plastics, plant fibers, and olive leaf extract. It doesn’t get much greener than that!
