Buick Hands-Free Connectivity Possible with Updated IntelliLink
Buick hands-free connectivity is now completely possible with the latest version of IntelliLink with Siri Eyes Free and Text Message Alerts. These convenience features allow drivers to stay connected while keeping both eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel, a win for safety and for modern-day connectivity. “People have become accustomed to having their mobile devices with them wherever they go, and that includes their vehicle,” explained Roger McCormack, Buick product director. “With standard technologies like Siri Eyes Free and Text Message Alerts, Buick provides drivers with a convenient and safe way to stay in touch while on the road.”
Text Messaging Alerts allows drivers with smartphones and a Bluetooth profile to have incoming texts read through the vehicle’s speakers. But that’s not the only trick up IntelliLink’s sleeve. Siri Eyes Free goes a step further, allowing customers to ask Siri to place phone calls, choose music, write text messages (in reply to those read through Text Messaging Alerts), and get directions, among other tasks. Siri Eyes Free requires an iPhone 4s or later version, with iOS 6 or later.
“Today’s shoppers are more influenced by technology and infotainment systems than ever before,” said Arthur Henry, analyst for Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com. “With Buick’s IntelliLink now including these standard convenience features, the brand will further be in the forefront of consumers’ minds when shopping for their next vehicle.”
In fact, KBB reports that 39 percent of consumers will choose a vehicle based on its in-vehicle technology.
And of course, all 2015 Buick models but the Enclave will come standard with OnStar 4G LTE. This will be standard even on the Buick Enclave in 2016.
