Cadillac SRX Sales Increase 52% in August
Cadillac’s August sales were down 5.5% in August, but the SRX continues to lead the way for the brand by a large margin, leading one to believe that the eventual introduction of new crossovers could lead to good things.
The SRX was up 51.9% with 6,903 units sold, with a retail sales increase of 36% overall. Its year-to-date total climbs to 43,863 units, up 15.4% year-over-year.
The Escalade ESV moved 1,310 units, up 4.2%, but the Escalade was down 22.3% with 1,770 units sold. Still the Escalade and Escalade ESV are up 16.9% and 39.8% to-date, respectively.
As has been the case for much of the automotive industry, Cadillac’s car sales dipped again as the ATS, CTS, ELR, and XTS all experienced year-over-year sales decreases. As consumer preferences continue to shift toward crossovers, car sales continue to slide for all brands. Cadillac’s higher ATP across the board has helped them offset this trend, as have increased global sales.
To date, Cadillac has sold 110,791 vehicles in the United States, down 2.8% from the eight-month pace from last year.
