Chrysler Group Hosts 15th Annual Matchmaker Event
Today, Chrysler Group LLC hosts its 15th annual Matchmaker event in Auburn, Michigan, at company headquarters. The Matchmaker event allows businesses that are minority-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned to access Chrysler Group’s own Tier 1 suppliers and other decision makers within the company. Over the last 15 years, exhibitors at the Matchmaker events have been exposed to more than $2.1 billion in new business opportunities.
The 15th annual Matchmaker event welcomed over 2,900 participants and 270 minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, and majority-owned Chrysler Group suppliers.

Chrysler Group has diversity goals for Tier 1 suppliers: 10 percent of their procurement buy must be sourced to certified minority suppliers. Just last year, Chrysler Group itself spent around $2.1 billion with minority suppliers. This accounted for nearly 7 percent of the group’s total spending for 2013.
“Chrysler Group is as committed as ever to creating a diverse and sustainable supply base that directly reflects our customers,” said Tom Finelli, Vice President, NAFTA Purchasing and Supplier Quality, Chrysler Group LLC. “Our commitment to diversity is deeply rooted and fully engages our entire team, including our extended enterprise partners. This enables us to better understand and satisfy –- perhaps even to better anticipate — the tastes and needs of diverse customers and communities.”
