At a time when the average price of a new vehicle has reached $50,000, affordability has become a central issue across the automotive market. Stellantis is positioning Chrysler to address that pressure with lower-cost offerings while expanding a lineup that currently remains limited compared with major competitors.

Stellantis plans to launch seven new products in the United States over the next few years. Among them, two vehicles are expected to remain below the $30,000 threshold, marking a move toward broader accessibility in a market where lower-priced models have become less common.

The two upcoming crossovers are expected to strengthen Chrysler’s presence in one of the most competitive vehicle segments. While details remain limited, the company has already reportedly presented one of these products to dealers during a private showing held late last year.

Arrow and Arrow Cross Expected to Target Affordable Crossover Buyers

The two upcoming models are expected to carry the names Chrysler Arrow and Chrysler Arrow Cross. According to Motor1, both vehicles will be compact SUVs designed to expand Chrysler’s product range.

Dealers allegedly received an early look at one of the vehicles under the internal name “Pronto.” That model reportedly carried a starting price in the $20,000 range.

The launch comes as automakers continue to face growing attention around vehicle affordability. Consumers have increasingly indicated interest in lower-cost options while average transaction prices remain elevated.

Distinct Styling Planned for the Two New Chrysler Models

The two crossovers will not share identical styling approaches. One version is expected to adopt a more streamlined, coupe-inspired silhouette with a sleeker overall profile.

The Arrow and Arrow Cross are likely to compete in the same space as vehicles such as the Buick Encore GX and Buick Envista. No additional design specifications or dimensions were disclosed in the report.

Powertrain Details Remain Unknown as Chrysler Develops a Broader SUV Strategy

Chrysler has not revealed what powertrains will be offered in the Arrow lineup. Some level of electrification is expected. The report also stated that Chrysler could potentially use Jeep’s Hurricane 4 engine for the crossovers. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 325 horsepower.

Alongside the Arrow and Arrow Cross, Chrysler is also developing a midsize SUV known as the Airflow. The upcoming model is expected to draw inspiration from the Airflow concept and is anticipated to remain priced below $40,000.

The move is part of Stellantis’ broader product roadmap and noted that Chrysler appears to be taking on the role of the group’s mainstream brand in the United States.
