Five Honda models were featured in the 2019 Kelley Blue Book Resale Value Awards, giving the automaker a win in every vehicle category it produces.

Every year, KBB recognizes the vehicles that best retain their value over the first five years of ownership, a strong indicator of their overall ability to maintain value.

The 2019 Honda HR-V was named the best subcompact SUV/crossover with 58.2% value retained after 36 months and 41% value retained after 60 months. “[It] may be the brand’s smallest SUV, but it’s a giant among rivals,” KBB said.

The 2019 Honda Odyssey was named the best minivan with 55.5% value retained after 36 months and 40.2% value retained after 60 months.

The 2019 Honda Civic was named the best compact car with 55.5% value retained after 36 months and 41.2% value retained after 60 months.

The 2019 Honda Insight was named the best hybrid car with 53.7% value retained after 36 months and 37.7% value retained after 60 months.

Finally, the 2019 Honda Ridgeline was ranked among the overall top 10 with 63.2% value retained after 36 months and 51.3% value retained after 60 months — and a few more Honda models were also represented in the top three in other categories.

It’s something of common knowledge that Honda vehicles hold their value well, though it’s always nice reputation backed up by statistics. If there’s a vehicle segment you’re interested in, and resale value matters to you, odds are there’s a Honda that fits what you’re looking for.
