Ford Brings 2017 Fusion, GT to ESSENCE Festival
Ford has announced that it is returning to the ESSENCE Festival this year, marking eight consecutive years of appearances at the world-renowned weekend of music, culture, and fun. To mark the occasion, Ford is bringing along with it two of its latest and most highly-anticipated toys: the 2017 Fusion and GT supercar.
“Ford continues to support ESSENCE in events like the festival because of our commitment to the African American community,” said Raj Register, manager, Ford multicultural communications. “It’s exciting to have the Ford GT on hand this year, especially coming off its recent win at Le Mans.”
The Ford GT, in case you have been living under a rock for the past year and a half or so, was brought back into the world with the two-pronged goal of winning at Le Mans and becoming the coolest and most exclusive supercar on the earth. It is more than far to say that it has achieved both of its aims, making its presence at the 22nd ESSENCE Festival all the more appropriate.
The GT will not be available to test-drive at the ESSENCE Festival, but other new vehicles like the 2017 Fusion, Escape, and Explorer will. Anyone test-driving will receive a $750 cash offer by opting in to MyFord Magazine, and a select few drivers will get to share their ride with comedian Loni Love.
Ford will also be sponsoring entertainment at the Superdome lounge, including performances from the likes of Jidenna, Kehlani, Lion Babe, and St. Beauty.
And, hey, if you hit the thing up this weekend, feel free to hashtag it with #MyFordFam. Slay yassss.
