Hyundai Motor Company promoted William Lee to be the new leader of its luxury brand. Lee will draw on years of experience in strategy and sales for Hyundai, where he served most recently as the Executive Vice President and Americans Region Executive Advisor. Lee has also been the CEO of Hyundai Motor North America and the Senior Vice President of overseas sales.

Lee’s most pressing task will be leading Genesis as it seeks to expand in global markets like Canada, Australia, Russia and the Middle East. He’ll have the opportunity to build on the accomplishments of his predecessor, Manfred Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald recently left Genesis after four years of getting the brand off the ground, shaping its image, and positioning it for growth in the global competitive luxury car market.

Del Rosso will report to Lee at global headquarters and to Jose Munoz, the President and CEO of Hyundai North America. He’ll oversee Erwin Raphael, the chief operating officer of Genesis Motors North America.

Del Rosso boasts more than 25 years of auto-industry experience, especially the luxury car segment. He came to Genesis from Audi of America, where he served as president. Before that, he served as Audi of America’s chief operating officer and as the Region Americas president and CEO of Bentley Motors. Del Rosso has also worked in sales for Toyota’s Lexus brand.
