If you take a gander over at our news page for new vehicle awards, you may find that Honda and Honda models are regular fixtures. Subjectively, it’s always felt as though Honda was outpacing the competition in this regard, and now Kelley Blue Book has all but confirmed it for us.

Four Honda models were named in KBB’s list of the “10 Most Awarded Cars of 2019”: the 2019 Honda Accord, Honda Odyssey, Honda CR-V, and Honda Civic, all of which were featured in the top five. What’s more, Honda was also ranked first among the list of KBB’s “10 Most Awarded Brands of 2019.”

“Having established a decades-long reputation for strong resale value and reliability, Honda’s extensive array of SUVs and cars, as well as its truck and minivan, have earned this automaker the most accolades for 2019,” wrote the KBB editors.

These two awards represent the winningest cars and brands from all of the company’s 2019 awards programs, which include Best Buy Awards, Best Resale Value Awards, 5-Year Cost-to-Own Awards, Brand Image Awards, Best Overall Brand, and a variety of other accolade lists such as Best Family Cars.

A skeptical reader might see this as evidence of KBB bias in favor of Honda, but a quick look at other award publications shows a similar trend. Throughout 2018 and 2019, Honda and Honda models have also received major praise from the likes of Edmunds, Car and Driver, Cars.com, and U.S. News & World Report, all the while receiving top safety scores from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

And if loyalty to domestically-built cars matters to you more than quality, Honda even dominated the Cars.com 2019 American-Made Index. At this rate, it might be easier to ask: What awards hasn’t Honda won this year?
