One of Jeep’s Super Bowl commercial looks at the brand’s global presence

For many people, the Super Bowl is about more than just football—it’s also about some great commercials. While some companies go all out with almost $5 million in advertising spend on hilarious commercials, others look to appeal to everyone’s sentimental side—like Jeep.

The Jeep brand debuted one commercial in particular that really tugged at the heartstrings. Called “Portraits,” the 60-second spot took the audience through 75 years of images to commemorate Jeep’s 75 years as a brand. These images encompassed the world and included famous celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Jeff Goldblum, BB King, and Aretha Franklin. Throughout the images, the American carmaker also scattered photos of historic Jeep models, including the Wrangler.

Fiat Chrysler is currently making a move to focus more on the Jeep brand, so its Jeep-centric Super Bowl commercials should come as no surprise. The company’s Super Bowl campaign highlights its decision to introduce more SUVs to its lineup, and to axe the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200. Along with “Portraits,” the carmaker also debuted a second 60-second commercial called “4x4ever,” which also celebrates the rugged Jeep brand. You can learn more about that commercial here.
