The Avenger has accumulated 270,000 sales worldwide since its launch three years ago, despite not being sold in the United States. Following the discontinuation of the Renegade last year, the Avenger is now the smallest model in Jeep’s lineup.

The facelifted SUV receives subtle exterior revisions rather than a full redesign. Jeep has updated the front and rear bumpers and introduced two new exterior colors called Forest and Bamboo, both available with an optional black roof. The automaker has also redesigned the 17-inch and 18-inch wheels, which now feature a center cap displaying a stylized Willys profile.

Inside, Jeep focused on improving material quality. The door panels now use softer surfaces, while the lower dashboard gains padded inserts. Altitude and Summit trims receive updated cloth and vinyl upholstery, while the 4xe version gets washable green seat material designed for durability.

Jeep Introduces an Anniversary Edition with Illuminated Grille

To celebrate 85 years since the launch of its first mass-produced vehicle, Jeep is releasing a special edition of the Avenger with several exclusive visual details. The model features a tartan hood decal, gold accents on the bumpers and wheels, and dedicated anniversary logos placed both inside and outside the vehicle.

The commemorative version also adds gold stitching in the cabin and an illuminated seven-slot grille. According to Motor1, the backlit grille will also be available on selected higher-end trims beyond the anniversary edition.

The refreshed Avenger additionally gains matrix LED headlights and a front-facing camera capable of enabling a 360-degree exterior view. These upgrades expand the list of driver-assistance and visibility features available on the compact SUV.

New 1.2-Liter Engine Replaces Previous Unit with Revised Components

The most significant mechanical update concerns the gasoline-powered version. Jeep is now using Stellantis’ latest turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, which replaces the previous setup that relied on a wet timing belt immersed in oil.

The new engine adopts a timing chain intended to improve long-term durability and address reliability problems associated with the earlier design. Stellantis also replaced the engine block, pistons, and piston rings in an effort to improve robustness and control oil consumption.

The engine produces 100 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, or 205 Newton-meters. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, one of the details Jeep chose to retain for this update.

The Avenger lineup continues to include a mild-hybrid variant delivering 108 horsepower through a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive. Buyers can also opt for the plug-in hybrid 4xe model, which uses a rear-mounted electric motor to provide all-wheel drive and a combined output of 143 horsepower.

Fully Electric Version Remains Part of the Lineup

Jeep is also continuing with the fully electric Avenger, which the company describes as the “pinnacle of Avenger technology.” The EV version develops 154 horsepower and uses a 54-kWh battery pack.

According to the figures shared by Jeep, the electric Avenger offers a WLTP driving range of 249 miles, equivalent to 400 kilometers. The vehicle also supports DC fast charging at speeds of up to 100 kW.

Production of the Avenger continues in Poland, and Jeep has already opened order books for the updated model. Deliveries are scheduled to begin later this year.
