NHTSA Awards 2015 Cadillac CTS a Five-Star Overall Safety Rating
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recently awarded the 2015 Cadillac CTS a five-star overall safety rating, reports Edmunds. The CTS sedan performed quite exceptionally, claiming five stars in the front crash test, the side crash test, and even the rollover test.
And before you ask: the safety rating applies to both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive CTS variants. The CTS-V coupe, however, has not yet been tested.
The 2015 Cadillac CTS, which is available at dealerships nationwide now, boasts 10 standard airbags, as well as electronic stability control with traction control and antilock brakes. Drivers can also opt for Lane Keep Assist and Lane Change Alert via the Driver Awareness Package, available for the first time on the 2015 model.
Two of the CTS’s German competitors, the BMW 5-Series and the Audi A6, also received five-star overall safety ratings.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not yet tested the 2015 Cadillac CTS sedan, but we expect a comparable rating (Top Safety Pick) from the institute.
