Off-Road Experts Name Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2019 SUV of the Year
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is starting off 2019 with a big win — 2019 SUV of the Year from the off-road experts at Four Wheeler magazine. Vehicles vying for the prestigious title traversed over gravel, dirt, sand, rock, snow and mud-covered terrain that stretched 1,000 miles. Judges evaluated the durability and performance of each vehicle’s tires, four-wheel drive system options, driving visibility, engine performance, traction control system, suspension, ride quality, steering feel, interior amenities and handling over a week’s time. Also considered was the price, tire size, travel index and fuel efficiency of the vehicle.

“The Wrangler Rubicon is packed full of innovation and technology, fully modernizing the Jeep experience, yet capability, comfort and user-friendliness have only been improved upon,” said Sean Holman, Group Content Director for Four Wheeler. “This is one of those rare instances where a company got something so right, you can have your cake and eat it, too. It is a truly modern interpretation of the Wrangler without any dilution to the formula of what a Jeep should be.”
The 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon features an available Sky One-Touch powertop on its four-door model. With a push of a button, even at speeds reaching 60 miles per hour, you can easily manipulate the opening or closing of the powertop. The 2019 Wrangler is available at four well-equipped trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon.
“Our all-new Jeep Wrangler has been improved in every way, and we are thrilled the Four Wheeler editors have honored the pillar of our brand with this important award,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Jeep Brand — North America. “Jeep Wrangler is the original SUV and has long been the most capable vehicle on the planet. This new Wrangler is completely refined, with more fuel-efficient powertrains, dramatically improved on-road driving dynamics, and an array of advanced technology, connectivity and safety features that make it a pleasure to drive every day — on the road or trail.”
