Honda has announced that the 2017 Honda Pilot will become the latest vehicle in its lineup to receive Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. Additional updates for the 2017 model year include a fingerprint-resistant touchscreen and additional interior color options.

“The all-new third-generation Pilot has been a huge hit with SUV buyers,” said Jeff Conrad, Honda Division senior vice president and general manager. “For 2017, we’re making Pilot even more appealing with new technology and options that our customers are seeking.”

Every variation of the Pilot at or above the EX trim level will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities baked into the fingerprint-resistant eight-inch Display Audio touchscreen. Additionally, any Pilot coated with optional White Diamond Pearl exterior paint will also be available with a new black interior.

Otherwise, the 2017 Pilot is ostensibly the same as the 2016 model. Given that the three-row SUV not only earned top safety scores from both the NHTSA and IIHS, but also the title of one of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Cars for the Money” and KBB.com’s “Best Family Cars of 2016,” that ensures a fair degree of quality.

Fuel economy for the 2017 Pilot is also unchanged from the previous model year, with the 2017 Pilot Touring 2WD maintaining its status as the most fuel-efficient trim at 20 mpg city/27 mph highway/23 mpg combined.

Pricing increases $550-650 across the line, with the 2017 Pilot LX 2WD starting at $30,595 MSRP and the 2017 Pilot Elite AWD topping out the range at $47,070 MSRP.
