Pricing Starts at $48,045 for 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison | The News Wheel

A few months ago, we got the details on a brand-new off-road pickup from Chevrolet: the 2019 Colorado ZR2 Bison. Now, we’ve learned how much this brawny hunk of truck will cost, too — close to $50,000.

An extended-cab ZR2 Bison comes in at $48,045 (including destination fees). A crew cab ZR2 Bison carries a price tag of $49,645. Compare that to the regular Colorado ZR2 extended cab, which costs 42,295 … or the Colorado base model, which is $21,495.

To review, here’s what you’ll get with the ZR2 Bison, which is a collaboration between Chevy and American Expedition Vehicles:

  • Five skid plates made of hot-stamped Boron steel
  • A front stamped-steel bumper with fog lights and winch provisions
  • A rear stamped-steel bumper with integrated recovery points
  • Enlarged fender flares
  • An available snorkel system
  • 17-inch aluminum wheels and 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratec off-road tires
  • A flow-through grille with uppercase CHEVROLET lettering
  • “Bison” decals on the bed sides and an “AEV Bison” tailgate logo
  • Embroidered AEV logos on the floor liners and front head restraints

The ZR2 Bison’s engine options are the same as the regular ZR2: a standard 3.6-liter V6 (308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque) or an available 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel (181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque) with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Other key ZR2 features include front and rear locking electronic differentials, cast-iron control arms, an Autotrac transfer case, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and off-road rocker protection.

The ZR2 Bison is expected to go on sale sometime in January.
