Luxury lovers in South Korea now have a new import SUV vying for their affections: the all-new 2019 Lincoln Nautilus. Lincoln Korea introduced the Nautilus to the country in May with a showcase at its Daechi showroom in the high-end Gangnam area of Seoul, which included a trick-shot showcase from pro billiards player Yuram Cha akin to how Lincoln has marketed the Nautilus in the states.

“Nautilus is a competitive model that will lead Lincoln to its direction for further innovation,” said Lincoln Korea CEO Jae Jung. “We expect the Nautilus to continue its growth in the mid-large size luxury SUV market.”

The launch of the Nautilus marks the first time in two years that Lincoln has brought a new product to South Korea. Seoul is a big market for luxury-brand vehicles, and while it’s home to a few brands, the import market has grown into a battlefield with several international labels seeking favor with drivers.

Lincoln says that 110 journalists across 95 outlets were on-hand to cover the vent, resulting in a whole bunch of media coverage up to and including five print articles. The event was split into two parts, giving both journalists and “key opinion leaders” (aka social media influencers and whatnot) the opportunity to get up close and personal with the new SUV.

Feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive, with the Nautilus described as “highly sophisticated and elegant” and a general sense of excitement being expressed about the future of the Lincoln SUV lineup in Korea.
