The Subaru WRX STI has been a favorite among adrenaline-fueled drivers for years, due in large part to its extraordinary power, handling, and athleticism. Last month, fans were treated to the news that the most capable production STI of all time, the STI S209, would soon be released in the United States. Just recently, Subaru announced that the Limited-Edition STI S209 would retail for $63,995 with an $885 Destination and Delivery surcharge.

The launch of the S209 is sure to be an unforgettable event for Subaru fans in the United States, considering it is the first STI-crafted S-line performance vehicle to be sold in the states. From 2000 to 2018, all STI-built Subaru vehicles were exclusive to the Japanese Market due to American regulatory laws. For the S209, Subaru went through the lengthy, multinational homologation process to bring the beloved muscle car stateside.

Now that the STI S209 has finally made its way to America, you’re in for a treat. That is if you can get your hands on one.

When Subaru named this vehicle the Limited-Edition STI 209, it seems they meant it. In the same press release where the automaker announced the pricing of the car, they also informed those eager to get behind the wheel of this groundbreaking vehicle that they would only be producing 209 models.

The limited production run of the STI S209 and the fervor it’s sure to cause seem to be a worthy opening fanfare for what we can only hope is a long future for the line in America.
