Subaru’s continue to fly off of the figurative shelves, with the automaker setting and breaking a number of impressive sales records in August 2019.

The most notable of these, Subaru recently announced, is that this August — which saw a 9.3 percent growth of the same month last year — marked the single best sales month in the company’s history, eclipsing the previous record-holder (December 2018) by nearly 5,500 units. The month also continued the automaker’s winning streak of 93 consecutive months of yearly, month-over-month growth.

Leading the charge towards victory were a host of other records and month-over-month sales growth figures achieved by specific vehicles. Last month was the best August ever for the Ascent and the Crosstrek, and the best sales month of all time for the Crosstrek.

On top of that, it marked the 66th consecutive month of more than 10,000 Outbacks sold and the 73rd consecutive month of over 10,000 Foresters sold.

When asked about how he felt moving into September, Thomas J. Doll, President and CEO, Subaru of America Inc., was optimistic that high demand and the launch of revamped Legacy and Outback models would help end the year on a high note.

“It’s always special to set an all-time record and shows our potential to continue growing. We’ll also be starting September with historically low inventory levels” said Doll. “Our retailers and customers are excited about the production ramp up of the all-new 2020 Legacy and Outback Models. These carlines will help us achieve more record months later this year and get us to our 2019 calendar year target of 700,000 units.”
