The Luxury Avenir Trim Is Coming to Buick Regal in 2019
As we wrote last week, Buick customers are enthusiastically embracing the Avenir luxury sub-brand. The Enclave and the LaCrosse both offer Avenir trims that are quite popular. Now, it looks like buyers who don’t want a large crossover or full-size sedan will be able to get in on the premium fun, too.
Per the new GM fleet order guide, Buick will offer the midsize Regal Sportback sedan with an Avenir trim for the 2019 model year. Avenir won’t be offered for the Regal TourX wagon.
The 2019 Regal Avenir will get a nine-speed automatic transmission, 19-inch Pearl Nickel wheels, self-leveling and cornering headlamps, leather seating, an 8-inch infotainment touch screen, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system. If it follows the lead of Buick’s other Avenir models, it will also come with distinctive badging and a three-dimensional mesh grille.
Sporty Sedan: Meet the 2018 Buick Regal Sportback
The Regal Avenir will come standard with Buick’s Driver Confidence I package, which includes four-way lumbar adjustment and heated outside mirrors, along with active safety features like Lane Change Alert, Rear Park Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The available Driver Confidence II package comes with those features plus Lane Keep Assist, adaptive cruise control, front pedestrian braking, and forward emergency braking.
While the Avenir trim has a premium reputation, it probably won’t be the costliest Regal model. Instead, the Regal Avenir figures to be a bit less pricy than the sporty Regal GS, which comes in at $39,995 for 2018. The GS features intelligent AWD and a high-performance V6 engine that cranks out 310 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque.
