Two New Buick Velite Models Launched in China

Thanks to a growing portfolio and a commitment to innovation, Buick continues to dominate in the lucrative Chinese market. One of General Motors’ biggest goals in the region is to increase the appeal of electric and hybrid vehicles to young drivers. This objective has just resulted in the unprecedented simultaneous rollout of two new Buick Velite models: the Velite 6 PHEV and the Velite 7 EV.

A look at the two new Buick Velite models
This expansion of the Velite sub-brand is a massive move for China. Upon its release, the Velite 7 EV will officially be Tri-Shield’s first fully electric crossover. The vehicle will be able to achieve 175 horsepower and 266 lb-ft or torque. It will also be able to drive 311 miles on a single charge. The updated Velite 6 PHEV remains a plug-in hybrid, but now features the brand’s latest eMotion propulsion technology. The rest of its features remain unchanged.
But it’s not just these vehicles’ stats that make their release impressive. Their simultaneous arrival on the market is equally extraordinary.

The two new Buick Velite models are currently available for purchase at dealerships across China. The Velite 6 PHEV costs the equivalent of $22,800, and the Velite 7 EV costs $25,680.
