The all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator’s distinct styling, advanced tech, and innovative cabin features have earned it a well-deserved spot on WardsAuto’s 10 Best Interiors List for 2019. The honor was revealed at the New York International Auto Show.

WardsAuto managing editor Tom Murphy and senior editor Christie Schweinsberg note that the all-new Jeep Gladiator is more than a Wrangler SUV with a bed attached.

“The second-row seats were redesigned to fold down for storage behind and for seat bottoms to lift up for storage below. The optional floor bins can be locked, and the seatbacks can be locked in place as well to secure goods stashed behind them, such as the optional wireless Bluetooth speaker that can be removed for trailhead entertainment,” they write. “All these locks may sound excessive, but they provide peace of mind deep in the wilderness for those who will leave their vehicles unattended perhaps for days.”

The editors were also impressed with the Gladiator’s convertible characteristics.

Thirty-three all-new or drastically redesigned vehicles were evaluated for this year’s list, and editors examined the contenders based on ergonomics, fit-and-finish, aesthetics, material quality, and comfort.

“The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is a modern take on authentic Jeep design combining versatility and function in a manner that is clearly inspired by our legendary heritage,” said Ralph Gilles, head of Design, FCA. “The Gladiator’s rugged interior styling is a subtle balance of premium materials, must-have features and technology that turns the basic daily drive into an adventure. The truck encompasses the spirit of the Jeep brand while checking all the boxes our customers desire.”
