“The choice of color during the buying process can be a tough one,” said Mohsen Kassem, Regional Marketing and Sales Manager, GMC Middle East. “Most might attribute the final decision to taste but, in reality, there’s a lot more to why GMC’s color palette is so varied and diverse. GMC’s longstanding presence in this market—which spans over 90 years now—has provided us with in-depth insight into why our customers choose certain colors.”

Overall, the most favored color is Onyx Black, followed by Summit White and Champagne Silver Metallic. For customers opting for a Denali trim, White Diamond Tricoat is the preferred hue.

According to GMC, white has a 29% overall penetration among its customers, followed by silver at 25.5% and black at 18%. Customer feedback intimates that white’s popularity is due to its ability to deflect heat in addition to its clean look, while silver also earns points for its ability to reflect heat. Black is a popular choice because it is seen as an indicator of classic luxury and gives a vehicle a sense of presence.

“Although personal preference certainly plays a role, practicality of upkeep as well resale value on some colors tend to be the decisive factors for our customers,” added Kassem.
