The new and improved 2018 Nissan LEAF was named one of the overall “2018 Best of Innovation” honorees at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Unveiled ceremony earlier this month, establishing the latest iteration of Nissan’s zero-emission vehicle as a critical darling ahead of its arrival in early 2018.

Adding to its overall honors, the 2018 Nissan LEAF with available ProPILOT Assist and e-Pedal technologies earned the Best of Innovation award for Vehicle Intelligence and Self-Driving Technology, as well as Tech for a Better World honors.

“It is a great honor to have this early and important recognition for the new Nissan LEAF,” said Daniele Schillaci, Nissan’s executive vice president for global marketing and sales, zero-emission vehicles and battery business. “This award recognizes products and technologies that benefit people and the planet, so it is fitting that the new LEAF has been honored. It is more than just a car. It is the icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, our vision to move people to a better world.”

The annual CES Best of Innovation awards are presented by the Consumer Technology Association as part of the walk-up to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this coming January. The 2018 LEAF, which is set to arrive at LEAF Certified Nissan dealers sometime in early 2018, will be the centerpiece of Nissan’s presentation.

In addition to revamped exterior and interior aesthetics, the 2018 Nissan LEAF boasts an estimated 150-mile driving range as well as significant increases to horsepower and torque. Production on the new LEAF is already underway at Nissan’s manufacturing facility in Smyrna.
