At 176 inches long and almost 73 inches wide, the Hyundai Tucson isn’t very large but wisely uses the space it has to feel spacious inside. The sloping lines and unique rear bumper design make the Tucson an attractive crossover with more sleek appeal than its competitors. 2017 Hyundai Tucson Performance
Performance numbers for the 2017 Tucson are the same as last year’s model. The crossover achieves average horsepower and torque levels for its class and fuel efficiency.
The 2.0 liter inline four-cylinder engine earns 164 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque, while the 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine raises that to 175 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque.
The redesigned Tucson has received praise for its handling and acceleration, which continues in this year’s model.

The Tucson SE, powered by a 2.0 liter inline four-cylinder engine and four-wheel drive, earns an estimated 23 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 26 mpg combined. With all-wheel drive, those rates become 21/26/23 mpg city/highway/combined.
Taking a step up to the turbocharged 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine, the Eco reaches an estimated 26/32/28 mpg city/highway/combined in FWD, and 25/30/27 mpg with AWD.
Both the Sport and Limited, each paired to the same turbocharged 1.6-liter engine, earn 25/30/27 mpg city/highway/combined with FWD and 24/28/25 mpg with AWD.
All versions of the Tucson have a 16.4 gallon fuel tank capacity.

Despite being a lower-priced, smaller crossover than some of its competitors, the Tucson offers attractive materials in its cabin, including leather touches and illuminated controls. The Limited trim gives the Tucson an especially refined, premium appearance.
It comfortably seats five passengers, and the back row can be folded down for increased storage space (31 cubic feet expands to 61.9 cubic feet). Front leg room is almost 42 inches, while rear legroom is just over 38 inches.
